- Take 1/2 cup Brown rice

- Combine all the ingredients and cook in a rice cooker/pressure pot cooker and press the congee button/setting. Water can be in ratio of 1:2 depending on individual rice cooker setting or manual.
- You may add red bean/ mung bean, sweet potatoes for more sweetness without necessarily adding brown sugar crystals. If using brown sugar and cooking on stove top, you can add the brown sugar when the congee is cooked and allow to gradually melt, then stir properly. N/B: the cooked congee should have water in it, not just soggy.
