Steps to make Beef Lasagne:
- Gather all ingredients that need to be preped
- Dice up all the veggies to about the same size. Saute the onion, carrot and tomato together for about 5 mins. Add the bell peppers and fry for another minute.
- Add in the mince and garlic. Fry until the mince is browned. Season with mixed herbs, salt and pepper. Reduce the heat, cover and let cook for 5 mins.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and add the flour to make a roux. Cook out the flour for a few minutes.
- Slowly pour in the milk to the roux while stirring continuously to avoid any lumps. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Season sauce with white pepper and salt. Add the mozzarella cheese and mix until it's fully melted.
- Once the beef mince and cheese sauce are ready it's now time to assemble the lasagna in an oven proof dish.
- Put a layer of the cheese sauce, followed by the lasagne sheets and then a layer of the beef mince. Continue these layers until you reach the top of the dish making sure to end with a layer of cheese sauce.
- Once the lasagne has been layered sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake lasagna at 160 degrees for about 20mins or until the top has browned. Once baked, serve while hot.
